Stardust
Stardust is a free cycle tracking app that integrates science, ancient wisdom, astronomy, and AI to help you find contentment, manifest goals, and befriend your body. The app is extremely popular with hundreds of thousands of monthly active users.
Google Cloud's Firebase not only caused a perception problem, holding personal data for one of the biggest marketing companies in the world, but their rigid platform did not give the Stardust team the flexibility their unique brand required.
Stardust has a very strong brand with over a million users. They needed an authentication solution that could be customized throughout the process.
When it was time to move from Google Firebase authentication to a new authentication solution for Stardust, Rachel Moranis, CEO of Stardust, and her team chose Rownd's Authentication Platform and Rownd's professional services. Stardust uses very sensitive data, so they required a partner that took security and privacy seriously, and also focused on keeping users engaged and growing. Stardust's apps are built in native Android (Kotlin) and iOS (Swift), with a Node backend making it easy to integrate with Rownd SDKs.
Stardust utilized a variety of sign-in methods, including Apple, Google, Phone, and Email, ensuring a smooth and user-friendly experience. The Rownd platform offered a great deal of customization for the modals, allowing Stardust to maintain their unique brand identity throughout the user experience.

Rownd's adaptive authentication was rolled out, displaying Apple login exclusively for iOS app users and Google for Android users. Additionally, Rownd remembers previous login methods, helping users recall how they initially logged in. Rachel, highlighted the benefits of the Rownd team.
