We are an innovative contextual authentication company, announced today that it had closed $2.2 million in seed funding in an oversubscribed round. Salil Desppande’s Uncorrelated Ventures led the round, with participation from YCombinator, Alumni Ventures, AIN, Legal Tech Fund, SaxeCap, Grit Partners, DVC, Asymmetry Ventures, and others.

Serving companies from B2C-funded startups to the world’s largest brands, Rownd’s rapidly growing customer base consists of companies that depend on the platform to grow their user base by eliminating sign-up and onboarding friction. Leaders like the Tribeca Film Festival, the US Air Force, the Next Big Idea Club, and the Stardust App, and high-growth startups like Onsite Travel, Whiteflag, and Dropt have chosen Rownd as their solution to help add more users through innovative, highly customizable, and iterative authentication.

“I have talked to hundreds of developers, CGOs, and product managers who look at authentication as a tax on their growth.  Not any more.  Now those responsible for growth have the tools to meet their goals with innovative technology and a new take on authentication.”

About

About Rownd

Even the most user-focused and product-led companies often put too many onboarding steps and too much friction too early in their marketing and app funnel. This hurts onboarding rates, user acquisition, and, eventually, revenue.  Soon, customers will have no choice but to use Rownd; new regulations like GDPR and other US-based privacy laws and know-your-customer rules require even more opt-ins and the collection of more data that add friction.

Rownd aims to help with its genre-busting software platform. Although firmly in the authentication and identity industry, its unique take on how and where authentication happens creeps into the marketing tech (MarTech) and growth-tech industries. Rownd’s SDKs and snippets can be implemented across a company's constellation of apps and websites to create a seamless transition between apps and websites.  Rownd also empowers its customers to iterate on where they want authentication to happen to maximize growth and minimize fall-off.

The company also launched its Rownd Mobile Login Links to the general public today, which allows customers to eliminate friction along the download/login funnel for mobile apps. Rownd Mobile Login Links allow users to start on a webpage and end in a mobile app already logged in for a truly seamless user experience.

“It was a delight working with the Rownd team.  They saved us tens of thousand of dollars and always deliver”.

- Marc, Director of Web, Tribeca
